Mentoring with Rachel
IN PERSON, ZOOM + VIDEO COURSES FOR EQUINE PHOTOGRAPHERS

After years in the business of equine, wedding + senior photography, Rachel is here to help with knowledge to advise you through the steps of growing your own equine photography skills. Whether you are just starting out or are wanting to grow, mentoring is tailored to your questions + needs and each mentor session is open to covering topics like shooting in manual, posing, finding the right light, black background editing, working with horses, workflow, editing and more.
In Person Mentoring
All topics are up for discussion during a 3 hour private, in person mentorship session with 30 minutes - 1 hour of pre-photo shoot consultation covering topics like shooting in manual, the best gear to use with horses & how to prepare clients for their session. After that Rachel will guide you through a 1-1.5 hour styled shoot where you will learn about posing, lighting & how to safely control horses into the poses you want during the session. When the styled shoot is complete you and Rachel will then go through the images taken and chat about topics like editing, how to handle images after a shoot + workflow. In person mentorships will take place near Cresco, Iowa. Travel fees may apply if you need an alternative location.

Video Call Mentoring
A zoom or FaceTime session with Rachel tailored to your specific needs. All topics are up for discussion and Rachel can help with editing, gear, posing, camera settings, workflow + more. Video sessions can be 1 or more hours, depending on what you all need out of your mentorship.

Black Background Tutorial
A 25 minute educational video where Rachel walks you through exactly what tools she uses in Adobe Photoshop to edit her TikTok viral black background images start to finish. Rachel edits an image in real time so you can follow along and learn her exact process. Unlimited access.

Known on TikTok for her viral black background edits, Rachel is an awarded Midwest based photographer specializing in equine, wedding + senior portraits. Rachel has grown her business from shooting friends for free to photographing paying clients all over the country. Rachel has photographed in a variety settings from the Arizona desert at sunrise, the lavender fields of France, to the snow covered hills of Iowa in the middle of winter and knows how to get the best portraits in any setting.
Photographing horses has it’s own unique challenges and require different skill sets and Rachel is here to help guide you grown your skills!
